Find out why Spider-Man producer is against Peter Parker’s co-stars – the UBJ – United Business Journal

It seems inevitable that the protagonists of any Spider-Man movie will date each other. Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst (who played Mary Jane Watson in each of Raimi’s three films) started dating during the first film, but they had separated before the release of its first sequel in 2004. Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone (who played Gwen Stacy in The Amazing Movies) lasted much longer, for quite some time throughout the release of both films, anyway, taking part in an SNL skit about their relationship on set. Spidey’s latest improvement is that, with subsequent rumors circulating for a while, Tom Holland and Zendaya officially asserted their status as a couple in December.

During a meeting, Amy Pascal was asked why she thinks every Spider-Man artist has dated their co-manager. Despite the fact that she was not engaged in the franchise when Tobey Maguire was dating Kirsten Dunst, she has been present for both Tom Holland and Zendaya and the growing romances of Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone. She’s not sure why this keeps happening, but she encouraged each of her stars to try not to come out because “it can just mess things up” but they all “ignored”. Read the full statement below:

“I approached Tom and Zendaya, separately, when we first picked them up and gave them a talk. Try not to go, but don’t. do it. I offered the same advice to Andrew and Emma. That might just confuse things, you know? Plus they all ignored me.

On-set romances have erupted between the co-leaders most of the time since the start of Hollywood. Of course, several of the industry’s most established couples have met this way, including Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith (who met when she tried out for Fresh Prince of Bel-Air) and Sarah Michelle Gellar. and Freddie Prinze Jr. (who met on the 1997 slasher set I Know What You Did Last Summer). There seems to be some sort of catalytic witchcraft to the cadence of spending hours together on set consistently for a very long time.

While this holds true, it also makes sense that producers like Pascal need to steer clear of this kind of romance. Spider-Man: No Way Home is making endless money in sight, and assuming the stars go through a messy separation, it could scramble future films where they have to star together. Since Marvel is now encouraging a second set of three Spider-Man stars with Tom Holland, their relationship could affect the next few years of Marvel films.
