The 1980 Olivia Newton-John vehicle Xanadu brought new magic to Charlotte this week as a musical directed by local theater genius Schuÿler Edgar Holmes. In association with Bishop’s University in Quebec and featuring a troupe of young, experienced comedians, this campy classic tells the story of a schlubby chalk artist, a roller derby and a Greek muse who fell to Earth , all to a tune of Electric Light Orchestra music.

Vermont Book Shop features a virtual reading and Q&A session for the start of this fantasy novel inspired by real life events in the life of accused witch Isobel Dowdie.
